YORK J & C Walker [1835] It is 4¼"x7" and runs from East of Heworth Town to just outside of Clifton, over to the Ouse along the west bank, due south through Hogate, a little bubble out for Hob, then around the Knavesmire across the Ouse at Fulford Church Lane up the East side of the Selby Road then over to the Retreat then diagonally over to Hull road just North of Heslington Mill, NNW to Tang Hall along Tang hall Beck and due North to along Stockton Lane. £24.00
YORK College of Ripon & York St. John. A fine Lithograph of the The Training College York, now the University College of Ripon and York St. John. Founded in the 1840's it shows the Building in the centre with tall columns around the main centre doorway.
A wing on either side of the large portico. To the right of the block is the College Chapel with houses further to the right in St. John's Street. To the left is a small extension and further to the left is another wing. All of the buildings have tall multiple chimneys. The front of the building is laid out with hedges and lawn, two gentlemen inspect the area. In front a gardener is clearing one of the many beds spread out in the lawns. The whole is within a decorated border with four views inset into each corner: View of the Interior of the College Chapel; Yorkshire Yeoman School; The Schools and Cloisters, and in the top left hand corner is a view of York Minster from the College Grounds. £235.00

Large Framed Linen Backed map 29¾"x23½", A very attractive map with a large emgraving of Beverley Minister in the bottom left hand corner; Decorated title in the top right hand corner which embodies no less than five distinctive and complimentary lettering styles, and a comass rose in the bottom right, all delicately coloured. The Places of Polling are listed together with a Reference to the Wapentakes. An explanation or key with ninteen sub headings is located at the bottom centre with Mileage bar beside. The map is at a scale of ½" to the mile. The Greenwood brothers were a fine pair of cartogrephers, who way before the Ordinance survey had got their act together, had surveyed the whole of the country at 1" to the mile. Its is from that survey that this map comes. At present the map has a large frame 35½"x40¼" and is double mounted with a dark green outer. Original torn grey paper wrappers with description. Twenty three printed pages, additional engraved title page, and ten full page illustrations showing various views of the Kings Manor, plus a double page layout of the Ground Floor of the Kings Manor. An interesting booklet, it contains a number of attractive etchings, the first is N.E. Front of Manor House York; St. Marys Abbey; Manor House from the W(est); Entrance to Lord Huntingtons Room; Lord Huntington's Room; Principal Entrance, Manor House; Wentworth Arms, Lord Strafford; Doorway, Unused, manor House; In the Manor House; Courtyard Manor House; Together with a double page Ground plan of the Kings Manor. The Ten Etchings plus Ground floor Plan of the Manor are superbly executed. £65.00
YORK City of York Proposed Covered Market, Church Street Site. Mr Alderman Hargroves Plan. It's planned location was on the corner of Swinegate and Church Street and projecting into St. Sampsons Square. The Sheet is 22"x30" and shows the layout, coloured in red, stone and pale blue, on the right of the sheet, with the elevations, coloured in slate blue and stone on the left. It was proposed to cover 1,780 sq. yards with 1,415 sq yds for poultrey & vegetable market and 365 for the meat market. The estimated cost was £6,370 for purchase of property, £8,897 for erection of the Market hall, £950 for Internal Fittings with £105 for footpaths etc giving a total of £16,322. exclusive of Act of Parliament. Dusty cream thick paper, folded three times with small holes at corners. The layout and design is very typical of markets some times seen in France and Spain and occasionally in Britain. £165.00
